Dear Scouts and Scout Families:
Thank you for your participation in the 2011 New Lenox Scout Food Drive. The event was a great success.
With the support of the donations provided by the residents of New Lenox, we collected 46,954 items this year. This was an improvement compared to the 43,815 items we collected last year.
The three food pantries we support were ecstatic about what we did. Their shelves are now stocked for some time. Our event continues to be the single largest food donation they experience each year.
As I reflect back on the day, my thoughts are no different than last year, I was taken back by the amount of food we collected and further amazed by the number of Scouts and their families that participated. I am very proud our Scouts have a great sense of community service.
Each year I look to improve on the Food Drive. I am already trying to figure out what we can do next year. I know this year we had some challenges moving the bags from the cars into the building. Next year we will work to have more carts and focus on traffic flow. If there was something you saw that we should consider changing, please send me an email at nlscoutsfooddrive@gmail.com.
I am already looking forward to next year’s Food Drive and I hope you consider participating again.
Yours in Scouting,
Bill Thomson |

Please note that Google is having issues with their Calendar and Sites functionality that may cause calendar entries to display in time zones other than Central Time. The bottom left corner of the calendar should indicate which time zone the calendar is displaying. If in doubt about a date displayed on the troop website, click the link below for the master calendar which should display the correct times.
